The African Centre for Media and Information Literacy (AFRICMIL) has congratulated Dr. Nnaemeka Ewelukwa on his appointment as the new MD/CEO of Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET) PLC.

In a letter signed by Chido Onumah, Coordinator of AFRICMIL, the organization said: “We are immensely gratified by this appointment and note with great delight your resolve to squarely focus on the task ahead which is the immediate repositioning of NBET to meet the urgent demands of adding value to the severely challenged power sector.”

The letter also expressed solidarity with the new leadership, saying AFRICMIL would serve as a worthy partner. “We will offer our support every step of the way to ensure NBET under you regains its lost glory,” the letter stated. The organization said it hoped that the support would be reciprocated by Dr. Ewelukwa and his team by ensuring openness and transparency in the management of NBET.

“To this end,” said the letter, “we would be most grateful if we receive feedback from you on the status of your relationship with the entire NBET staff, but particularly the whistleblowers who were victimized during the tenure of the immediate past MD/CEO.”
